Kate’s hatchback to be auctioned over eBay

Posted on July 19, 2011

A Volkswagen Golf said to formerly belong to the Duchess of Cambridge is up for auction on eBay for a minimum of £20,000; 3 times the resale price.

The current owner Sonny Brazil, 21, claims that the 2 door hatchback belonged to the new royal as the log book was registered under the first owner, a Catherine Middleton.

Photographs from the past show Kate driving around in a similar car, back in 2001 when she was an accessories buyer for a clothing chain, Jigsaw.

Brazil also adds a prize with the sale of the car, a pair of silver cufflinks which he says could belong to Prince William, who was said to have met Kate around the same time period.

There are also reasons to believe that the cufflinks could very well belong to Kate’s brother James as he was handed the car after her.

The car was sold by James to Brazil’s father’s car dealership near Reading. It  comes with a replacement wing mirror along with 62,000 miles, the receipts of all the work done on it and the log book.

Brazil hopes to fetch more than the asking price before the auction ends on July 24that 8:30pm, however thus far he hasn’t had any luck in getting bidders.
