Colin and Chris Weir from Largs in Ayrshire have claimed Europe’s biggest ever lottery prize for £161million.

Chris Weir and her husband Colin were said to have been ‘tickled pink’ when they found out that they had won Tuesday’s jackpot. She even had a glass of wine, which she normally does only on Christmas.

Chris sat up late evening circling the numbers and when they matched the ones from the draw, she was in utter shock.

She says that they sat up all night because they were so excited to call the claims number the next morning.

Colin exclaims “that it felt like a dream, everything went into slow motion.”

When asked at a media conference in Falkirk what they would do with the money, Chris replied “we are not flashy people.” To which Colin added that “with great wealth comes great responsibility.”

Colin, 64, a former cameraman and Chris, 55, a trained psychiatric nurse have decided to buy their 2 children Carly and Jamie homes and also travel to places they thought they would never see like the Great Wall of China, Ayers Rock in Australia, art galleries in Paris and Russia.
