Aerospace Corporation unveils project rocket plane.
Collaborating with Japan and using technology that already exists, the corporation will have a prototype ready by 2020 and hopes that the aircraft will be in full use by 2050.
The 50-100 seater carrier will take off using normal engines and then switch to rocket engines at altitude, using bio-fuel extracted from seaweed.
The “Zero emission hypersonic transportation” aims to fly in the stratosphere which will be around 32 kilometers as compared to planes today that fly 10 km from the ground.
The main idea to pollute less stated EADS Chief Technical officer Jean Botti but this also drastically cuts down travel time, making it a win-win situation for EADS, the customer and mother nature.
